About the Event
Imagine yourself in a the lofty cathedral-like room of the Apiary, cozy persian rugs line the floor, the ethereal sound of crystal singing bowls vibrating around the room all you have to do it take all in. All you have to do is BE in this wonderful sensory experience designed to relax and calm. Before and after you can indulge in hot tea and homemade pastries, side-by-side with friends new and old. Lissa Sims will guide you through a short balancing meditation to prepare you for the healing effects of the sounds bathing.
Amy Hudson will be playing singing bowls to bring us into deeper peace and awareness. This is a passive meditative experience. There is no training, practice, or experience required to participate. You simply need an open heart and an open mind. Amy says, “When I play a singing bowl every cell of your body is affected and as you listen to the tones a myriad of responses can occur. Your body naturally begins to relax, pain receptors become inundated to the point where they can no longer transmit pain impulses, oxygen levels increase, meditation deepens, emotions are released, and ultimately you experience a natural state of harmony. Elation, relaxation, peace, burning, floating, heaviness, weighted, etc. are all words used by my clients to describe their experiences.”
We will have mediation cushions but the singing bowls are best enjoyed lying down so you may want to bring a mat, blanket, and pillow to get really comfortable.
